Connect Google
Last updated: October 5, 2026
Connect your Google account to Rally to check your availability, add interviews to your Google Calendar, create Google Meet links, and (if your workspace allows it) send participant emails from your Gmail address.
Google is a personal integration, so each Rally user connects their own account. Rally only asks for Gmail sending if your Admin has enabled Allow email sending permission when connecting Google or Microsoft accounts in Workspace account settings and your role can send email. Otherwise, you'll only connect your calendar.
Connect your Google account
Steps
Navigate to Settings > Connected Accounts.
Select Connect Google.
In the popup window, sign in to the Google account you want to connect and select Continue.
Review the requested permissions, listed in the table below, and select Allow.
The popup closes automatically and Google shows as connected on the Connected Accounts page.
If you uncheck any permission on Google's approval screen, your account still connects, but the related feature won't work. Badges next to your Google connection show which permissions were granted. To fix a missing permission, select Reconnect and approve everything that's listed.
Required permissions
When you connect your Google account, Rally asks for the following permissions:
Permission | Description | Why Rally needs it | Scope |
Google Calendar | See, edit, create, and delete your calendar events. | Check your availability, add interviews to your calendar, and create Google Meet links. Participants only see open time slots, never your event details. | calendar |
Gmail sending | Send email on your behalf. Rally can't read or change your existing emails. | Send participant emails from your Gmail address. Only requested if your workspace allows email sending. | gmail.send |
Basic profile and email | See your name, profile picture, and email address. | Identify which Google account is connected. | userinfo.email, userinfo.profile |
Disconnect or reconnect Google
To disconnect, navigate to Settings > Connected Accounts, select Disconnect next to Google, and confirm. Interviews you're hosting will no longer sync to your calendar until you connect again.
Only one calendar account can be connected at a time. To switch from Google to Microsoft 365, disconnect Google first.
