Send Incentives to Participants
After completing research where Participants have been offered an incentive, close the loop by sending incentives to Participants individually or in bulk.
💡 To send incentives to participants, you must first enable Incentives on a Study.
Once a participant completes a qualifying activity in a Study with incentives enabled, their Participant Status will automatically update to reflect "Interview Completed," "Test Completed," or "Survey Completed."
From the Study Overview, under the Participants section in the sidepanel, select Pending Incentive to view Participants who have completed the required activity.
To send incentives, use the checkboxes to select one or more Participants.
Select the Send incentive button at the top of the table.
Configure Incentive:
Type of Incentive: Defaults to the incentive type set in study setup, but also allows the flexibility to choose Charity Donation only incentives as needed.
Select an incentive budget: Confirm the Budget to pay from.
Preview the Available Balance in the selected Budget.
You can select Add more funds via credit card if the budget does not have enough to send the total amount.
Incentive Amount: Verify the incentive amount prefilled from the study setup is correct. If a special different amount was discussed, you can change the amount to send here.
Verify everything looks correct.
Select the Next: compose email button to continue.
Compose Incentive Email: As needed, edit the incentive email thanking Participants for their participation, which includes the incentive amount and button with a unique link to claim their incentive.
You can change the email sender to send from or edit the email subject or body.
If you've made custom edits you'd like to use again, Save as new template.
Select Next: review email.
Review Incentive Email: Verify everything looks correct, including the # of participants included, the link type, incentive type, selected budget and amount.
Select Send to # participants to distribute rewards!
Once incentives are sent, their Participant Status will automatically update to "Incentive Sent", and your task is complete!
Charity Donations Only Incentives
Send Charity Donations only incentives to participants that aren't able to accept [cash] incentives due to company policies or other rules. This option is limited to charity redemption options only.
Even if Cash or Gift Card (via Tremendous) is set as the default Study incentive type, you have the flexibility to send only Charity Donations (via Tremendous) to specific participants within the same Study by updating the incentive type at the time it is sent.
To send Charity Donations only to specific Participants in a Study with Cash or Gift Card incentives set or vice versa, follow the instructions but simply change the Type of Incentive when configuring the incentive before sending.

Incentives FAQ
ℹ️ After a Study is closed, can Participants still claim incentives that were sent?
Yes! If incentive emails were sent to Participants within a Study before the Study Status was updated to Closed (or Closed and then Archived), they will still be able to claim the incentive from the unique incentive email.
You can also resend or cancel unclaimed incentives after a set time period.
ℹ️ A Participant is not receiving their incentive email, was it sent?
Check the Study Outbox to ensure the incentive email was successfully sent.
In the relevant Study, open the 'Outbox' from the sidepanel and select the 'All Emails' tab at the top. Type the Participant's name or email in the searchbar to see emails sent to them and check the "Email Status" column. If the status is "Sent" it may be in the Participants spam folder; if the status is "Error" you can resend it.
If a Participant is having issues receiving their incentive email, follow the same steps above to navigate to the Study Outbox and search for their incentive email. Select the Email Subject to preview, then right click on the "Redeem" button to 'Copy Link Address' and directly email that link to the participant.
ℹ️ I'm unable to send incentives to Participants on a Study. Why is the action menu not showing the option to send incentives?
Sending incentives to Participants can only be done within the context of a Study. You must ensure incentives are turned on for the Study. This can be done after launching by editing the study and turning incentives on in the Plan stage.
