Import and Update Property Data
Last updated: April 27, 2026
A person's property data can be updated in multiple ways, depending on your preferences and use cases.
From individual person profiles
You can locate an individual person record either from within a study, or from your All People database or a population they are a part of. When you're in a people table, you can use the search bar in the top right to find the relevant participant via either name or email address.
Select the name of the relevant person to open their profile.
Select the Properties tab to view all properties for this person.
Make desired property edits to add, change, or remove information.
Any changes made directly from the person profile are saved automatically.
In bulk from a people table
Navigate to People, and select the All people database, or select the population you wish to make edits within.
Use filters or a select a view, list, or form to locate relevant participants.
Use the checkboxes to select all or to select the records you wish to update.
Select the Edit properties button at the top of the table.
In the right side panel that opens, select the property to update for all selected participants and then select the new value to add or replace existing data with.
Select Save Changes to apply.
Repeat the same process to update each additional property as needed.
In bulk via CSV upload
You can update custom properties you've created in your Rally workspace by importing a CSV file and mapping the columns to the corresponding properties. The values in each record will be uploaded to their person profile.
Participants with existing data for a property will have that value replaced if the CSV includes an updated value for that property, and participants with no data for a property will have that value added if the CSV includes a value for that property.
Question templates and screener or survey response mapping
You can create reusable question templates with property mapping or assign screener or survey question responses to properties so that when a participant takes a screener or survey, their responses automatically update the values in their properties with any new or updated information, providing you with more data and enriching person profiles.
Out-the-Box properties are pre-defined in Rally and are automatically updated based on various actions and events within Rally, such as participant activity and interactions.
Salesforce or Snowflake syncs
Rally offers integrations with both Salesforce and Snowflake. By mapping Salesforce or Snowflake fields to the corresponding properties in Rally, your existing contacts and their information can be synced to Rally, creating or updating the person's property data automatically.
