Exclusive populations allow you to protect key participants by ensuring they can only belong to a single population and cannot be added to any other populations. Carefully control who can view or contact certain people to safeguard against outreach or invitations to the wrong studies, protect sensitive data.
Our Exclusivity Restriction setting for populations can only be turned on when there are no people in the population. Enable this when you create a population.
Use Cases for Exclusive Populations
You might want to use exclusive populations to protect participants such as:
C-Suite and Executives
Unique participant profiles that are difficult to recruit
High-value participants
And more!
Add People to an Exclusive Population
People can only be added to an exclusive population if they are not in any other populations. They cannot be added to other populations while in an exclusive one.
For participants that do not belong to any population, use the steps below to add them into an exclusive population, or remove people from a population first.
For participants that belong to 1 or more populations, you can use move people to an exclusive population to move them into an exclusive population while simultaneously removing them from all other populations in the workspace.
π¨ Adding people to a population requires the "Add person to population" permission. This includes the Rally default roles Admin, Ops Manager, or Researcher.
Select the People page from your Rally Workspace level or Team level.
Select the exclusive population for people without a population to be added to.
Select Add People in the top right corner and + Add from existing.
Select the participants you want to add by checking the corresponding checkboxes next to their names.
Participants you expect to see that do not show may belong to other populations - first remove people from all other populations to continue.
Use filters to refine your search with any custom properties or Rally properties.
Tip: Quickly select multiple consecutive rows simultaneously by making your first selection and then holding the shift key when making your last selection.
Select Add selected (#) to confirm.
