After building a Panel (or Population) in Rally, you may wish to periodically run a panel refresh survey to:

  • Ensure your panelist/participant data stays fresh and updated

  • Capture a few new data points on participants

  • Enrich your participant database

  • Improve research recruitment targeting

There are multiple methods and places in Rally to do this. The process is similar, but varies slightly depending on where you choose to begin. You can select people to create a new study with or add them to an existing study. Either flow can be completed from a Population or Study in Rally. Learn more in each section below.

From Population: Add People to a New or Existing Study

  1. Navigate to People and select the relevant Population to open it.

  2. Select the top checkbox to select all, or use filters to narrow your search before making your selections.

  3. Add people to a new study by creating one now, or add to an existing study.

    • Add people to a new study:

      • Select the Add to... button at the top of the table and Add to new study.

      • Select the Survey study type.

      • Select Continue to create your new study as a draft.

    • Add people to an existing study:

      • Select the Add to... button at the top of the table and Add to study.

      • In the popup, select the relevant study from the dropdown and then select Add # people to study.

      • A confirmation alert will appear in the top right corner with a clickable link; select the link to open the Study.

  4. Follow the steps in Create A Survey Study to build your study out, including setting an unlimited participation limit, building your survey, and editing the "Survey" study email template that will serve as the invite to participate.

  5. Once completed and reviewed, select Create Study to publish it.

  6. Select participants and send survey invite emails.

  7. After participants you've invited to the study submit their survey responses, their properties will automatically be updated or added to further enrich their participant profiles and ensure your data stays fresh.
