While Rally's robust native Screener and Survey tools are available automatically, connecting your Qualtrics account to Rally can unlock additional use cases, allowing your team to utilize different Qualtrics features and projects together with Rally.

Required Rally User Permissions
Before configuring your Qualtrics Integration with Rally, ensure you have the correct user permissions.
🚨 Connecting Qualtrics requires an Ops Manager, Developer, or Super Admin role type.
Set Up the Qualtrics Integration
After you have the correct User Permissions, you can set up your Qualtrics integration with Rally.
In the top right corner of Rally, select your user icon and select 'Settings'.
From the sidebar, select 'Connected Apps'.
To the right of Qualtrics, select 'Connect' and follow the steps below.
Connecting to a Qualtrics account is done via the API token of a Brand Administrator in your Qualtrics account. The API token can be found in your Qualtrics account settings under the "Qualtrics IDs" tab.
Using your Brand Administrator's API token, we will be creating a new user named "Rally UXR" in your Qualtrics account with the email "[email protected]". We will be using that user account to fetch data from Qualtrics.
Note: We will not store your brand administrator's API token. We will only store the API token of the Rally user created in your Qualtrics account.
Use the Qualtrics Integration in Rally
Now that you've connected your Qualtrics account to Rally, you're ready to use Qualtrics surveys in Rally Studies. First, share your Qualtrics Study with Rally.
Share Qualtrics Surveys with Rally
In your Qualtrics account, navigate to the projects page.
Click on the 3 dotted menu item of the survey you want to use in Rally.
Click on 'Collaborate'.
In the collaboration modal, search for "Rally" and select the "Rally UXR" user.
Click 'Add Selected', then 'Invite', and then 'Save'.
Your survey must have the status "Active" to show in Rally.
Voila! Your Qualtrics survey is ready to be used in Rally.
💡 Only "Active" published surveys in Qualtrics that have been shared with the Rally UXR user will be displayed in the menu.
Use Qualtrics Surveys in Rally Studies
In Rally, navigate to the Studies page and create a new Study with a Screener or Survey.
In the Screener or Survey section, select 'Qualtrics' from the Survey Tool dropdown.
From the Qualtrics Survey dropdown, select the correct Qualtrics survey.
Your Qualtrics Survey questions will populate in Rally to allow you the option to associate question responses to specific Properties. Select a question, then select the 'Property Mapping' dropdown. When a person takes the Screener or Survey, their responses will update the values of their Properties.
Select an existing Property from the dropdown to map the question to it. If the selected Property has options, you can also map each question option to the corresponding Property option.
Create a new Property to map to this question to by selecting 'Create Property'.
Select 'Preview' near the top of the page to preview how the Qualtrics survey will appear to Participants in Rally. Select 'View Survey in Qualtrics' to view or edit your Qualtrics survey.
Finish filling in the rest of your Study information.
Voila! You now have a Rally Study with a survey powered by Qualtrics that can be shared with Participants.
View Qualtrics Survey Responses
Now that you have a Study with a Qualtrics survey, you can share the link to the Study landing page with your Participants and prospects and gather some responses. To view the responses, follow these steps:
In Rally, navigate to the Study and select 'Screener Responses or 'Survey Responses' from the sidepanel.
Hover over a Participant's name to select the three dots and select 'View Screener Responses' or 'View Survey Responses' to view individual Participants' responses, or scroll to the right to see all Participant responses simultaneously.
When viewing a specific Participant's responses, you can also view the responses in Qualtrics by selecting 'View Responses In Qualtrics'.
💡 Currently, we do not support all Qualtrics question types in Rally. If any questions are not present in the responses panel, follow the steps above and select 'View Response In Qualtrics' to view all your questions and responses.
Map Responses Between Qualtrics and Rally
Map responses between Qualtrics and Rally by using the Rally Participant Id.
You can add the "Participant ID" as a column to the table in your Rally Study.
Then in Qualtrics, you can view the same Participant ID when viewing the response data.
In Qualtrics, open the relevant survey.
Select the 'Data & Analysis' tab.
Hover over the Recorded Date column header to select the '+' icon to add a new column, and select Embedded Data > rallyParticipantId.
With the
rallyParticipantIdcolumn added, you can review and compare survey responses using this unique identifier, including tracking incomplete survey responses.

ℹ️ Why are my Qualtrics surveys not showing up in Rally?
Only published Qualtrics surveys shared with the Rally UXR user in your account can be used in Rally. In Qualtrics, please confirm that your survey has been published and that the Rally UXR user has been added as a Collaborator with all permissions for the survey.
ℹ️ I responded to a Qualtrics survey using Rally, why is it not showing up in the responses tab?
It may take a few minutes for survey responses to flow from Qualtrics into Rally. Try refreshing the Screener responses page after a few minutes. If you still cannot see them, please contact us and we will take a look.
ℹ️ Why are some of my Qualtrics questions not displaying in the responses panel?
Currently, we do not support all Qualtrics question types in Rally. If you see a question that is not present in the responses panel, please click 'View response in Qualtrics'.
