SMS reminder notifications

Last updated: February 26, 2026

SMS reminders allow Rally to send automated, transactional SMS messages to participants who opt in, helping reduce no-shows and keeping participants informed about upcoming interviews.

When enabled, participants receive reminders sent from a Rally managed number at a predefined time before their scheduled session.

Watch this short video to see how SMS reminders work:

Enabling SMS for your workspace

SMS reminders must be enabled at the workspace level before they can be used in individual studies. Only workspace admins can enable this setting.

  1. Go to Settings > Workspace > SMS

  2. Toggle on the SMS feature for your workspace

Once enabled, team members will be able to turn on SMS reminders on a per-study basis.

Only workspace admins can enable or disable SMS at the workspace level. This setting affects all studies within your workspace.

Configuring SMS reminders for interview studies

When you create a new interview study, the Interview Reminder SMS option is enabled by default.

To disable SMS reminders for a specific study, toggle off the Interview Reminder option within the study settings.

A few things to know about SMS reminders:

  • Reminders are sent 15 minutes before the interview start time

  • Messages are sent from +1-330-661-9491

  • SMS reminder messages are not customizable

When SMS reminders are enabled for a study, Rally will automatically collect a participant's phone number and consent before they can complete their signup.

Participant experience

Consent collection

Consent is collected on the public share link invitation page. Participants will see a required phone number field along with the following disclosure:

By entering your phone number, you consent to receive messages for this event via SMS. Message and data rates may apply. You may receive up to 6 messages per each event. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Rally's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.

Participants must enter a valid phone number before they can submit their signup. Consent is recorded in Rally when the participant clicks Submit.

Message purpose and frequency

Participants may receive up to 6 SMS messages per event.

Messages are limited to interview logistics. This includes confirmations, reminders, schedule changes, and day-of updates.

Opting out and revoking consent

Participants can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any SMS they receive. They can also return to the manage‑booking page via the link in any message to remove their phone number.

Opt-outs are honored immediately and apply across Rally.

  • Note: Rally users can also manually update a participant's SMS consent from within that participant's profile.

How consent is stored

Rally stores a timestamped record of each participant's consent, including their phone number and the workspace that initiated the invite. Records are retained for audit purposes and can be produced on request to verify first-party consent.

Rally does not sell or share opt-in information with third parties.
