Dashboards
Last updated: October 22, 2026
Report on specific metrics with Rally Dashboards to gain insight into your study and participant activity over time.
Create your own dashboards, add reports, and reorder and edit them to customize your view. You can edit each report to customize groupings, filters, and breakdowns to display specific properties or attributes.
Viewing dashboards requires the dashboards and reports read permission. Creating, editing, reordering, duplicating, or deleting dashboards and reports requires the write permission. Users without write permission see these controls disabled.
Available reports
Person reports
Person reports track participant activity across studies:
Completed Surveys Over Time
Completed Screeners Over Time
Completed Unmoderated Tests Over Time
Interview Invites Over Time
Scheduled Interviews Over Time
Completed Interviews Over Time
Canceled Interviews Over Time
Interview No Shows Over Time
Opt Outs Over Time
Average Time To Recruit Over Time
Average Time To Recruit measures, per participant, the time between when they were invited (a study invite sent, an interview invite sent, or an interview scheduled) and when they completed the study (a survey, interview, or unmoderated test). Participants who joined through a public share link rather than a Rally invitation aren't included.
Study reports
Study reports track study activity and can be broken down by study type or grouped by time (for example, monthly):
Studies Published Over Time
Studies Closed Over Time
Note: Data for Study Reports is only available from May 2024 and after.
Create a dashboard
Navigate to Dashboards.
Select Create Dashboard in the top right.
Enter a name for the dashboard and select Create Dashboard.
Your new dashboard opens empty. Select + Add Reports.
Select the checkbox next to each report you want to add. Reports are grouped into Study Reports and Person Reports.
Select Add Reports.
Add reports to an existing dashboard
Open a dashboard, select + Add Reports in the top right, then follow steps 5 and 6 above.
If adding your selected reports would put the dashboard over the 10-report limit, the Add Reports button is disabled. Deselect reports or delete existing ones to make room.
View and manage dashboards
Navigate to Dashboards. You'll see every dashboard in your workspace, including its name, the number of reports it contains, and the teammate who created it. Dashboards are shared across the whole workspace and aren't limited by team.
Select a dashboard name to open it.
While viewing a report broken down by a specific attribute, select any option in the legend (the colored blocks below the chart) to hide that data, or double-click any option to hide all other data.
Select the three dots (...) to the right of any dashboard to:
Rename the dashboard.
Duplicate the dashboard, including all of its reports and their settings.
Delete the dashboard. In the confirmation popup, select Delete again to confirm.
Deleting a dashboard removes it, and all of its reports, for everyone in your workspace. This can't be undone. Check with teammates before deleting a dashboard someone else created or uses.
Share a dashboard
To share a dashboard, open it, copy the URL from your browser, and send it to your teammates. Only logged-in Rally users in your workspace with permission to view dashboards can open the link.
Manage reports
Navigate to Dashboards and select a dashboard to open it. Then select the three dots (...) in the top right corner of any report to:
Edit Report: change the report's name, timeframe, grouping, breakdown, and filters. See below.
Duplicate: create a copy of the report, including its configuration and filters. This is a quick way to build several versions of the same report with different filters or breakdowns.
Delete: immediately remove the report from the dashboard.
Reorder reports
Select Reorder Reports in the top right.
Use the up and down arrows to the right of each report to change their order.
Select Apply Changes to save, or Cancel to discard.
Edit a report
From the report's three dots (...) menu, select Edit Report.
Optionally, update the report's name to describe the data shown.
Configure the report settings:
Timeframe: All Data, Last 30 Days, Last 90 Days, Last 365 Days, This Month, This Quarter, or This Year.
Group data by: Day, Week, or Month. The x-axis updates to match.
Breakdown by: splits the data into separate colored series so you can compare counts. Leave it on Nothing selected to combine everything.
Study reports can be broken down by Study Type.
Person reports can be broken down by Study, Study Type, or any single-select or multi-select person property in your workspace.
To narrow the data further, select + Add Filter or + Add Filter Group, then choose the property, operator, and value. To remove or copy a filter, select the three dots (...) next to it and select Remove or Duplicate. Learn more about using filters in Rally.
Select Save to apply your changes, or Discard Changes to cancel.
How dashboard and report timeframes work
Each report has its own timeframe and grouping, which you set when editing the report. Each dashboard also has a timeframe dropdown and a Group by dropdown at the top.
When the dashboard timeframe is set to All Data, each report uses its own saved timeframe.
When the dashboard timeframe is set to anything else (for example, Last 30 Days), it overrides every report's timeframe. Reports affected by the override show a help icon next to their timeframe.
When the dashboard Group by is set, it overrides every report's grouping. Leave it unset to use each report's own grouping.
Good to know
Timezones
All dates and times in dashboards use your workspace timezone, not the timezone of the person viewing them. This way, everyone sees the same data regardless of where they are.
Limits
Each workspace can have up to 20 dashboards, and each dashboard can have up to 10 reports.
Data refresh
Report data may be delayed by up to an hour, so recent activity in Rally may not appear right away.
